The Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis line, developed in 1998 by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton began with several baby soft colours, one of which was the coveted Marshmallow Pink as you see in the above pictures of the Porte-Trésor International wallet. Other soft pastels included a lavender, a light yellow and a neutral pearly beige, which is just a tad lighter in shade than the noisette (a sort of latte) colour launched in just about 2006/7.

Measuring 7.5″ x 4.1″, this isn’t a wallet for those who dislike cumbersome sizes. But function wise it’s difficult to beat. Offering an entire system for organizing (most of) your daily needs when on the run, it has 6 credit card slots and 2 long pockets for bills and papers. It also features a pen slot for the convenience of not having to rummage through the entire handbag to find that pen.

The Porte-Trésor International wallet in Monogram Vernis features:

  • Monogram Vernis leather trim
  • Snap closure
  • Golden brass pieces, stamped with Louis Vuitton
  • 2 long pockets for papers on the inside
  • 6 credit card slots
  • Inside coin pocket with snapped flap
  • Pen case
  • Measures 7.5″ x 4.1″
  • Datecode: TH0064

This particular shade and colour of Vernis leather in Marshmallow Pink is a collector’s item at the moment since Louis Vuitton stores no longer carry this colour. The pastel colour allows you to go from day to night, with the wallet being quite an elegant clutch for evenings, the soft pastel shade complements most other colours that one could wear for an evening out. The Vernis leather line is also waterproof and reputedly scratch proof.
