It has been several weeks now of very warm weather in western Sweden, so it’s perfect for any outdoor activities. What we did, we packed our picnic basket and brought out the barbeque pits for our first BBQ this summer!

The warm, moist weather gave a splendid opportunity to put on anything drapey in design, and I found this lightweight silk charmeuse dress by Natalie Anne to fit the mood. A little dressy for a BBQ but I appreciated how it felt cool to the skin when worn.

Swedish flags – one of the things I love about Swedish houses, no matter the season!

To the dress, I had on a pair of wooden dangling earrings and a pair of chocolate brown Timberland ballerinas with an intrecciato weave that is reminescent of Bottega Venetas.

Summer barbeques are always fun, not just in the preparation but in the actual cooking of the food, outdoors! When not barbequeing myself, I absolutely love the smell of a neighbour’s grill party. Apart from the smell of charred meat, I can’t think of any grilled item smelling bad.

In good company.

The mixed scent of burning charcoal and grilled meat also brings me right back to Singapore, where BBQs are a favourite past time. Every weekend, there’ll be a group of people along the East Coast beach in Singapore, throwing a barbeque party of sorts. And you can’t help but want to take a peek at what they’re putting on the grill.
