I generally dislike totes. Personally, the very purpose of carrying a bag at all is to be able to go hands-free of carrying the goods, either by slinging it over the shoulder or in rucksack fashion, carrying the goods weighted on your back square between the shoulder blades.

But there are always exceptions.

The Louis Vuitton Monogram Manhattan PM is one such exception.

I’m not sure if it is the roundness of the rolled vachetta leather into sturdy handles or if it is the general shape of the bag that holds well even when stuffed full of belongings – perhaps both? – that won my heart on this functional PM tote, but it did.

The Manhattan PM sits pretty atop the cabin carry-on too and slides comfortably under the seat in front of you on the plane when you travel. A double-zip closure allows for easy access to the contents of the bag. The inside is beige / nude alcantara lined with a side slip pocket that allows you to organise and store your passport or air tickets, all in quick reach through the immigration counters upon departing and arriving. The two front pockets saves the day for other small items you need to carry whilst in transit from keys to lipstick to wet wipes.

It’s a small but spacious bag of dimensions 11″L x 5 1/2″W x 8 1/3″H.

A beautifully functional tote, it is chic, neat – and a travel friendly companion.
